Man City boss Eriksson plays down Richards clash

Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson played down a rush of blood from Micah Richards in their 3-3 draw with Fulham.

He clashed with Fulham's American striker Clint Dempsey after a tough tackle and clearly raised his hands - but referee Mark Halsey showed only a yellow card to both players.

Eriksson said: "Football would be perfect if nobody ever reacted. That is just what happened but Micah is a young player learning new lessons every day. This won't be a problem for him."

He added: "I was delighted to see Martin Petrov score two goals.

"He has had a lot of shots this season but has not been lucky with his finishing.

"He's a very good player and hopefully this will be the first goals of many from him.

"I'd like to win matches by playing entertaining football because if you don't you will not be able to get many wins.

"I would rather win 1-0 than draw 3-3 but we always seek to play attractive football and as long as I can be in charge that will continue."
