Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is delighted with the progress of his summer signing Gelson Fernandes.
"His rhythm, pace and energy suits the Premier League, but I think it could suit any league in the world. The international experience he is getting with Switzerland is helping as well, and of course it will be a dream for him to play for Switzerland at home in the European Championships next summer. That would be fantastic for him."
An unexpected bonus of Gelson's arrival is the fact that he speaks several languages. Born and raised on the Portuguese islands of Cape Verde, his multi-lingual nature has been a huge help to the Manager around the training ground since the signing of players from all over the world last summer.
"Gelson speaks every language we have here I think, apart from Chinese maybe!" laughs Sven. "His own language is Portuguese, but Spanish, English, German, it does not matter, he knows them all! He's very open-minded and speaks to everyone.
"There's always a smile on his face, he's very positive when he comes in in the morning. I don't think he knows what problems are."
