Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is planning a £20 million bid for Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery next month. The Daily Star Sunday says French star Ribery tops Sparky's hit list.
Ribery, 25, moved to Bayern Munich from Marseille 18 months ago for £17 million and is the current Footballer of the Year in Germany.
He can play on either flank or in a more central role and is also coveted by Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez.
Ribery, also a former Footballer of the Year in France, says: "I've a slight preference for a free role behind the strikers, but I'm never unhappy on either flank.
"As long as I can play my natural game, to dribble and provoke, I am happy."
