Manchester City face competition from Barcelona for Liverpool defender Dan Agger.

The Daily Mail says City and Barcelona are fighting it out for Liverpool defender Agger after both grew frustrated in the pursuit of Javi Martinez.

Roberto Mancini has targeted the Dane with Kolo Toure almost certain to leave the club this summer, leaving just Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott as top class centre-backs at the club.
