Manchester City have made an offer for Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini.

The Italy World Cup centre-forward is regarded highly by City boss Roberto Mancini and Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Corriere Mercantile says City are offering £21 million for Pazzini after growing frustrated in talks with Wolfsburg for striker Edin Dzeko.

Fed-up over the lack of progress with the Germans, City have turned to Pazzini and made an offer to Samp for the striker.
