David Silva has assured Manchester City fans he's committed to the cause.
Silva's form seems likely to attract interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid at some point. But while he was reluctant to talk about the possibility of extending his contract at the Etihad Stadium in the summer, Silva's message to City's fans is a positive one.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "El Clasico is game that everyone likes to watch because it is so entertaining.
"I have a good contract here and I can honestly say that my only focus is on keeping City at the top.
"Anyway, the games between City and United are now much more interesting than they used to be because both teams are at the top.
"Maybe the Manchester derby isn't quite as important as a game between Barca and Madrid, but one day I am sure it will get to that point.""But I don't feel a big need to play in the game.
