Man City ace Bernardo blasts claims from ex-Benfica coach Paiva: What's next?!

Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva has angrily hit back at his former Benfica coach Renato Paiva.

In an interview, Paiva criticised Bernardo for the way he left Benfica for Monaco early in his career.

He said, "Bernardo was impatient to leave. He didn't want to wait."

In that same interview he compared this with the attitude that Joao Felix showed when departing for Atletico Madrid: "It was very different."

In response, Bernardo declared: "He is a coach for whom I have a lot of respect and affection, but what he says does not correspond to reality, there is a machine to discredit those who are reaching the top.

"First they call me ungrateful and then impatient. I'm waiting for the next thing."

Bernardo was referring to the words of Jorge Jesús who called him "ungrateful" for criticising the president of Benfica, Luis Felipe Vieira in a recent statement.
