Man City ace Aguero: I have had to cut out pasta, meat and sugar!

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed that he has had to cut out pasta, meat and sugar from his diet in order to overcome muscular injuries.

The 26-year old striker has played in 31 of City's 36 league games this season, surpassing his total in each of the past two seasons which were restricted due to sift tissue problems.

Aguero sought advice from an Italian doctor and the results showed that he needed to cut down on certain foods so he could try to stay injury-free.

"I needed a healthier way of life," Aguero told the Manchester Evening News.

"I went to a doctor in Italy and he checked everything. I had to change quite a bit - no more pasta, no more sugar and no meat, which I used to eat quite a bit because Argentinian meat is very good.

"Touch wood, I haven't had any muscle injuries this season, only the knee problem.

"In training sessions I was struggling a bit last season. After every three sessions I had to stop. I also had to have a lot of treatment after training.

"This has proved that it has worked and I can stay the same until the end of my career."
