Former Norway coach Age Hareide has declared Manchester City striker Erling Haaland as currently the best player in the world.

Haaland has kicked off his career at City in sensational fashion.

"He is the world's best player right now. The achievement itself in scoring so many goals is so great. Erling has a quality that all teams want and look for," the Malmo coach told Sydsvenskan.

"He is otherworldly. Inhuman. He will only get better. This coach (Pep Guardiola) makes teams and players better.

"I have been to dinner with Erling and his father. Erling is incredibly humble, a nice guy. He is an extreme man in many ways. And he is extremely well trained."
