Aston Villa remain keen to land Lyon midfielder Jean Makoun II.
The Makoun transfer is still very much in the offing, says the Birmingham Mail, with discussions ongoing with the Ligue 1 club over the 27-year-old's fee.
"I am just trying to concentrate on my game," said Makoun. "It is true that there are offers for me, but I still have a contract here and I must respect that.
"There is a lot of talk about me in this transfer window, but it is the same for many players and I need to remain focused on Lyon.
"All I want to do is play, that's what matters."
