Macclesfield Town winger Liandro Martis has explained turning down Manchester United.

At 19, Martis shone in trials with United and Leicester City - and chose to go with the Foxes.

Now 23, the midfielder is with Macclesfield and told Voetbalzone: "My first season at Leicester went great, but then it all got less.

“No, I never regret. Nobody knows what would have happened if I had made the move to Manchester United. The only thing I can say is that I am proud that a club like United wanted me too. I am someone who relies on feeling, Leicester sketched a bright future and that is why I made that choice at the time."
