Lyon remain hopeful of landing former Arsenal, Man City, Real Madrid striker Adebayor

Olympique Lyon are continuing their pursuit of Emmanuel Adebayor, according to reports.

The French club held talks with the Togolese striker last week and despite those initial discussions breaking down, it is understood that they remain hopeful of landing his signature.

L'Equipe is of the belief that Lyon are in pole position to sign the free agent who is also of interest to Turkish club Caykur Rizespor and was linked with Fulham late in the transfer window.

Talks between the two parties stalled last week but Lyon are keen to press on and get a deal done before the weekend so the former Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Crystal Palace attacker is available for Sunday's clash with Marseille.
