Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has joked with fans he needs some luck to avoid "being sacked".

Van Gaal joked about his Manchester United future after the FA Cup win over Shrewsbury.

The Mirror says as he signed autographs for fans, one supporter said: "Good luck for the rest of the season, Louis."

And the Dutchman replied: "Yeah. We need it. Otherwise I shall be sacked."

The pressure increased on Van Gaal after United's Europa League defeat to FC Midtjylland last week, with the club also appearing unlikely to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
