Derby County boss Nigel Clough has confirmed the possible appointment of a director of football, but is cool over the decision. Weekend reports claimed Clough was unhappy that Watford's head of football business Ross Wilson was to be named.
Clough denied he had fallen out with chief executive Tom Glick, but stopped short of endorsing the new role.
"We are all having a chat about it, but we are not on a collision course," Clough told BBC East Midlands Today.
"Everybody at the training ground has far too much respect for Tom Glick for that.
"It [the new role] has been discussed within the club for several months. It's something that is ongoing. We are working towards a solution and what is best with the club.
"We are looking for a solution where we can improve everything we can." "We are working towards a solution and what is best with the club."
