Luke Ayling in line for new deal at Leeds

Luke Ayling is in line for a new deal at Leeds United.

Leeds-Live says Leeds are hoping to tie Ayling down to a new contract in January, with the defender's current deal set to expire in 18 months.

Leeds Live understand the 30-year-old could be the next first-team player to extend his stay at the Whites, after Patrick Bamford, Illan Mesier and Tyler Roberts all committed their futures to the club in the summer.

Ayling has sat out the last seven matches after picking up an injury in the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United and it's safe to say he's been a big miss.

The Whites have kept just once top-flight clean sheet all season, but Ayling played an important role in their ninth-place finish last term, mainly featuring on the right side of a back four.

It would be a boost for Marcelo Bielsa to ensure Ayling doesn't leave the club on a free in 2023.
