Inter Milan defender Lucio hopes than can clinch a deal for Sao Paulo star Lucas.

Inter chief Marco Branca flew to Brazil last week to discuss Lucas with Sao Paulo.

"I know Lucas very well and Inter ought to run to sign him straight away," Lucio told the Corriere dello Sport.

"He is a wide attacker with a great deal of quality, all combined with exceptional pace. He always works hard in training and is a humble lad.

"I remember during the Copa America training he'd often face Dani Alves during games between ranks and it was always a fiery battle.

"I think Lucas is better suited to Italian and European football than Neymar."
