LOWER LEAGUE STAR: Bury buoyed by Tutte treble

Andrew Tutte was the catalyst for a Shakers turnaround as Bury came from 2-0 down to beat lowly Colchester United 5-2. on Saturday.

The 25-year-old midfielder bobbed up with a rare treble to help David Flitcroft's side to a stunning come-from-behind triumph at Gigg Lane.

Colchester were reduced to ten men when To Eastman received a second yellow card in the 33rd minute and that sparked the comeback from the home side.

Ryan Lowe had cut the deficit to one goal in the 34th minute when he headed home Tutte's free-kick before the man of the moment scored twice in a minute to make it 2-2 before completing his hat-trick with the last goal of the game to seal an emphatic victory.

The fact that Tutte's first goal was his first since September was rare in itself, but managing to hit the back of the net on three occasions which made the feat even more remarkable.

His only goal came this season came in the Football League trophy in a 2-1 win at Accrington Stanley but if he continues making the headlines by scoring regularly like he did against Colchester, he could inspire Bury to a late promotion charge with the Shakers sitting nine points from a play-off place in 14th.

Colchester meanwhile, looked doomed for relegation to League Two as they are bottom and 10 points adrift of safety.
