Lovenkrand's proposed move from Newcastle to Cardiff could open Vancouver Whitecaps door for Earnshaw

Cardiff City are reportedly looking to bring in Newcastle United striker Peter Lovenkrands on loan.

The Denmark international has started just twice for the Magpies in the Premier League this season for a total of eight appearances and with the arrival of Papiss Demba Cisse in January, it appears as though regular game time will be hard to come by.

Cardiff are hoping to get Lovenkrands to South Wales on loan which could open the door for Vancouver Whitecaps to pursue Welsh striker Robert Earnshaw.

The Whitecaps have previously shown interest in the former Nottingham Forest ace and could now go after him with some more vigor if Lovenkrands happens to arrive at the Cardiff City Stadium.
