Los Angeles are hoping to bring in a third professional soccer team according to reports.
LA Convention Center officials will take a 'leadership role in working with the Mayor and City Council to identify a (soccer) team, a potential site and a viable business plan prior to the end of calendar year 2013.'
The city is already home to current MLS champions LA Galaxy and Chivas USA, who both play at the StubHub Center, which is situated 16 miles south of downtown LA but they want a MLS team in a soccer-specific stadium in a more central position.
City Councilman Tom LaBonge said late last week: "Whether it's at Dodger Stadium, the Piggyback Yard, or the Memorial Coliseum, the goal is to find a site and have a stadium."
Alternatively, the issue could be tackled by taking Chivas from Carson and putting them into a new home in downtown LA.
