Former Siena defender Simone Loria is thrilled with his move to Roma.
"It's a great feeling to see everything and to go to Trigoria having worked my way up from playing in Serie C to playing for Roma," he told the Roma Channel. "It's an honour.
"They have won the Coppa Italia for two years running and finished second in the League, as well as having a great Champions League campaign."
A number of other sides flirted with Loria before he completed his move to Rome, with two unnamed Premier League sides reportedly amongst them.
"I didn't know that there were links with English clubs," he said. "I know that Palermo wanted me, but as soon as Roma were mentioned my mind was made up.
"It's a dream come true and there isn't another team that could have made me feel like this.
"I will improve so much because I'll get to play alongside Francesco Totti, who is a great champion on and off the pitch.
"My dream is to score a goal in the derby. My other ambition is to play in the Champions League - that's something I've wanted to do since I was a child.
"I have arrived here at the right time because you don't feel so much pressure at the age of 30 as you have more experience."
