Shane Long admits he initially had doubts about new West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke.

Clarke has made an instant impact at the Baggies.

"I suppose at the back of your mind you're a bit concerned," Long told the Daily Mirror.

"But the second you meet him, you realise he's a top manager. He's come in and put his stamp on everything. There's a bit of a difference from Roy and his style is about passing, passing, passing.

"We pass the ball out from the back and try to pass it as much as we can.

"He's quiet most of the time. He doesn't bark much, he just says what needs to be said and I think you take more in that way.
