Lokomotiv Moscow president Olga Smorodskaya admits they made an attempt on two Tottenham players in January.

Smorodskaya says Loko held talks with Spurs midfielders Nacer Chadli and Mousa Dembele about moving to Russia.

"We have spoken with Tottenham's Dembele and Chadli and with the second we had almost reached an agreement," Smorodskaya told Sport.ru.

"But at the last moment he changed his mind and the deal fell through."

Chadli has revived his career this season since the summer arrival of manager Mauricio Pochettino.
