LOAN WATCH: Swansea future in doubt for Leeds defender Tate

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup admits he is unsure whether or not Alan Tate has a future at the club.

The 30-year old defender is on loan with Leeds United until January and despite making over 300 appearances for the Swans since 2004, Laudrup has indicated that he may soon move him on permanently.

However, the Danish tactician still had to consider some factors when deciding if Tate was a required Swansea player.

"I don't know whether that might happen," Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post.

"I just heard a couple of days before Alan left that Leeds was a possibility, and he said he wanted to go and play some games.

"I agreed with him that he needs to play, 100 per cent.

"We have five players in his position now that Kyle (Bartley) is back - two of them can play, one can sit on the bench and then two more will be in the stand - so I think it was a good decision by Alan to go and play some football.

"Now we will see what happens, but whether it is going to be a permanent deal depends on a lot of factors.

"You never know what can happen here - we have seen already this season that we can have problems and suddenly be down to only two centre-backs.

"I really don't know what will happen - let's see."
