LOAN WATCH: Stoke's forgotten man Sidibe fires Sheffield Wednesday to victory

Mamady Sidibe came up with his maiden goal for Sheffield Wednesday to fire the side to a 1-0 win at Bolton on Boxing Day.

The injury-prone striker, on loan from Stoke City, rose above Trotters defender Tim Ream to powerfully head home Lewis Buxton's cross in the 25th minute to give the Owls a third straight win which saw them move out of the Championship drop zone.

Sidibe's goal was well-received by Wednesday boss Dave Jones who feels the 33-year old just needs some regular game time to return to top form.

"Mamady's goal was probably a perfect centre-forward's goal. He deserved it because he's worked his socks off for a number of years to get back fit again," said Jones.

"All he's needed is to play games and he's now getting these games and he's slowly getting used to playing again."
