LOAN WATCH: Newcastle's Santon cheery about Inter Milan return

Davide Santon admits he is delighted to be back at Inter Milan after completing his loan move from Newcastle United.

The 24-year old full-back will spend the remainder of the season on loan with the Nerazzurri after struggling with fitness and form at St James' Park.

Regarding his return to Inter, Santon was full of positivity as he tries to lift his former club up the Serie A standings under Roberto Mancini.

"I received the call in the last few days of the transfer window and I was immediately convinced. I am very happy to be here," Santon said at a press conference.

"I was not playing at Newcastle for nine months with an injury, so I came here where I can be involved and feel at home because I grew up here."

Santon joined Newcastle from Inter in 2011 but insists he is thrilled to have returned to the San Siro where he came through the youth academy.

"We won a lot of trophies at that time, but at the time we decided it was time for a change, so I left for England. Now, I'm happy to be back," he added.

"Roberto Mancini has the will to win, and at the moment the results are not coming because we are paying for each error we make…"
