LOAN WATCH: Liverpool striker Ngoo happy with first Walsall goal

Liverpool striker Michael Ngoo was happy to get off the mark for loan club Walsall in their 1-1 draw with Carlisle United.

Ngoo's goal was his first in more than 12 months, having failed to hit the target since a loan spell with Hearts in the Scottish Premier League last season. A spell at Yeovil earlier this season was cut short and the forward admitted he has found it tough to remain confident.

"I have had loans here and there and it has a lot to do with being mentally strong," he told the Express & Star. "This is the first goal and I'm going to keep building from here and keep going.

"I have been convincing myself that I can still do it and I've been working hard in training to get in the right positions and then trying to get the minutes as well.

"I'm pleased with the goal, it's a first, a new beginning and hopefully I will build on it."
