LOAN WATCH: Liverpool's Adorjan both hero and villain for Groningen

by Andrew Maclean

Liverpool youngster Krisztian Adorjan scored his first goal for loan side FC Gronigen on the weekend in a match which ended 3-3 and also saw him sent off.

Adorjan, who was loaned out to the Eredivisie club with an option to buy, showed plenty of his quality in the first half against Go Ahead Eagles with a few close chances.

It took only nine minutes after the break for the 20-year old Hungarian to capitalize as he controlled a cross into the box and drove the ball into the top corner with a clinical finish.

Adorjan's previous good work would be undone, however, as a stray elbow in an aerial challenge lead to him receiving a straight red card in the 68th minute. Only two minutes later, Groningen teammate Timo Letschert was also sent off but Erwin van de Looi's side managed to escape with a draw as the game ended 3-3.
