Chelsea have confirmed that Patrick Bamford will stay on loan with Middlesbrough.
The talented 21-year old striker joined the Championship club in August on an initial six-month loan that was to expire on January 1 but that has now been extended until the end of the 2014/15 season.
Bamford, who has previously enjoyed loan spells with MK Dons and Derby County, has scored eight goals in 19 appearances for Boro so far this term with the Teessiders currently sitting fourth on the tier two table.
Boro boss Aitor Karanka said: "He loves to be here, we love him here, the squad wants him here and the crowd loves him too.
"He's a very good player. I wanted him in the first month of when I arrived. He's a young lad, he has to improve and he has to learn, but he understands the team is the main thing and he wants to be a part of it."
