LOAN WATCH: Chelsea midfielder Pasalic scores cracker on Monaco debut

Mario Pasalic kicked off his season-long loan with Monaco in fine fashion on Tuesday night.

The 20-year-old Croatian midfielder, who joined the French club from Chelsea as part of the deal that saw Radamel Falcao move the other way, scored a sublime goal in his new side's Champions League win over Young Boys.

The former Hajduk Split young gun put the finishing touches on a 3-1 win over the Swiss club in the first leg of third round qualifying of Europe's premier club competition.

After Raphael Nuzzolo pulled a goal back for Young Boys who fell two goals behind to Layvin Kurzawa and Guido Carrillo efforts, Pasalic fired home from range in the 75th minute to allow the principality outfit to take a healthy advantage into the return bout at the Stade Louis II next week.

The strike will surely fill Chelsea fans with plenty of optimism for the future, especially if Pasalic can continue to develop during his 12-month stay with Monaco.
