Ljungberg in contact with Arteta about Arsenal role

Freddie Ljungberg admits he's spoken with new Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta about his role.

Ljungberg has been acting as caretaker manager and will be in charge for this weekend's clash with Everton.

During his debut press conference on Friday evening, Arteta revealed that he held talks with Ljungberg on Friday, stating simply: "I had a conversation with him today."

Additionally, when quizzed on his potential coaching staff, he stated that paperwork is currently with club lawyers and that “it will be announced very shortly".

But while Arteta was in the process of discussing a new era in north London, Ljungberg himself took to social media.

"The message from me is still the same, get behind us and support the team!"

"It's been an honour to have helped the club I love for the last few weeks and I am excited to work with Mikel Arteta and his staff moving forwards".
