Reports suggest that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has travelled to United States to see a specialist for his hip injury.
The Reds want to establish whether surgery would speed up the striker's rehabilitation from the injury which has kept him out since April 8.
The England international has returned to Boston, where he spent time during Christmas last year receiving treatment for recurrent thigh problems.
Sturridge has been absent since aggravating a hip injury in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Blackburn Rovers almost a month ago.
In a season plagued with injury problems, Sturridge has made just 12 starts in all competitions.
