Liverpool midfielder Jordan Rossiter was thrilled to score on debut in their Capital One Cup win over Middlesbrough.
At 17 years old, Rossiter marked his first appearance by scoring from outside the area, pouncing on a loose ball following a collision between Boro goalkeeper Jamal Blackman and defender Kenneth Omeruo after just 10 minutes to put the Premier League side ahead in the clash that was tied at 2-2 after extra-time.
The Reds won the tie in a remarkable 14-13 penalty-shoot-out.
Rossiter told Sky Sports 1: "To be honest with you I couldn't have dreamed of that, scoring the first 20 minutes of the game in my first start here really was a dream come true."
"I found out (he would be starting) yesterday in training, I was a bit shocked but I just couldn't wait to get out there. I can't remember what I did (to celebrate), but I just went mad with it.
"I'm still young , I'm just looking to build on that performance and hopefully I'll get more chances in the future."
