Liverpool winger Riera opens door to Bordeaux return

Liverpool winger Albert Riera has opened the door to a move to Bordeaux.

The Spain winger had a running battle with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez last season because he felt that he should have been playing in the first team regularly.

He said in March that Benítez's regime was a "sinking ship" but was forced to back-track when a proposed move to Spartak Moscow collapsed.

"This was a difficult year for me and for Liverpool," he said. "Sincerely, if I can, I would like to remain at Liverpool because this club is a top one. But at the moment, the door is opened for me."

Riera added that he would consider a return to Bordeaux, where he played for two years from 2003. "Concerning Bordeaux, I very much would like there to return because I have the feeling that I did not give my all my first time there."
