Liverpool chiefs are confident they're the priority destination for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.
Benfica are seeking €100m to sell the Uruguay international - which would be a club record for Liverpool.
Manchester United, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are also in contact with, but the Liverpool Echo says Nunez wants a switch to Anfield to work with Jurgen Klopp.
Sources in Portugal have indicated Liverpool could offer a five-year contract, with a fee of €80m (£68.4m) plus €20m (£17.1m) in add-ons being touted.
Discussing Liverpool's interest, local pundit Nuno Dias said on CMTV: "I have the information that Benfica already have the bid.
"The bid is already at Luz, it's indeed of €80m plus €20m, and the player would've already said he'd sign it tomorrow (if given the chance)."
There's also claims Liverpool are willing to include players in their offer to sweeten the deal.
