Liverpool have joined Manchester United interest in Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna.
It's been suggested the presence of Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson, the son of United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, at Toro's defeat to AS Roma was part of a scouting check on Ogbonna for the Premier League leaders.
TMW says Liverpool are also interested in the Italy international and had scouts posted for Torino's clash with Bologna a fortnight ago to check on the defender.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has declared this week he needs to make two central defensive signings this summer.
