Liverpool are determined to prise Kenwyne Jones away from Sunderland today. The Daily Mail says Liverpool are pressing ahead with their move for Jones and hope to have him signed to face Tottenham on Wednesday.
The Trinidad and Tobago international is desperate for the deal to go through and Sunderland would look to recoup their full valuation, of around £10m, for the 25-year-old in the summer.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez said: "We will see if we can do something more in the transfer window. If we cannot we will stick together for the next challenge. We have a good team, a good squad and not as bad as people think."
