Liverpool youngster Jason Banton admits he would like to stay on after his trial period runs out with Chivas USA.
The 18-year old former Blackburn Rovers and Arsenal youngster made a great impression in a trial match for the Goats' reserves, scoring a goal and creating another as the side beat USL Pro side LA Blues 2-0.
Banton says he would love to remain with Chivas, indicating that winning a senior contract is on his agenda.
"We're looking for me to stay on, obviously, just negotiating a few things, but hopefully stay on, but looking positive so far," said Banton.
"It's a great club, great staff, great manager and great background, so hopefully stay on and push forward."
Chivas head coach Robin Fraser said that Banton was certainly a player he is interested in but made it clear that a deal was by no means done - although it could be on the cards.
"It's a matter of deciding if his asking price is something that we can afford or should afford," said Fraser. "He's a talented young player, for sure, but like any or most 18-year-old players, there are some concerns so we just need to weigh the whole thing and decide what we think is right."
