Liverpool and Tottenham are tracking Birmingham City winger Demarai Gray.
The Sunday Mirror says both Premier League giants see Gray as an alternative for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.
But there could be competition for the 18-year-old winger from Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton, who have also sent scouts to keep tabs on him.
A recent hat-trick against Reading thrust him even more into the spotlight.
So far the only bid for Gray has come from fellow Championship side Bournemouth, whose top offer of £2m was flatly rejected.
The Midlands club insist they are in no rush to sell him but, if an auction develops as the big guns' interest grows, a £5m bid could secure the deal.
