The Premier League has asked Liverpool to provide a valuation of former Burnley striker Danny Ings as they seek to determine the compensation fee the Clarets are entitled to for the England international.
Ings was signed by the Reds after his Burnley contract expired this summer, but due to the fact the player is under the age of 24, the Turf Moor club are entitled to a compensation fee.
It is understood the Merseyside outfit value Ings at £6million, although that is well short of the £10million Burnley claim that Tottenham were willing to spend on the forward.
The Professional Footballers Compensation Committee is not expected to meet until the new year.
