Fabian Delph has committed himself to Aston Villa by signing a new long-term deal.
The 25-year old midfielder had been in talks with the club for some time regarding an extension at Villa Park which prompted speculation that Liverpool were set to make a move for his services this winter or in the summer.
However, Delph has put all those rumours to bed by penning a four-and-a-half-year deal with Villa and he could not be happier to remain in the West Midlands.
"The club has given me a great platform to perform and a great opportunity to showcase what I can do," Delph told the club's official website.
"The fans have been great with me, the chairman has been absolutely fantastic with me and I have a great relationship with the manager and I see the boys here as my brothers, my family and I am delighted to stay here.
"I feel like this is me - I love the club, I love being here and I want to put 100% into everything I do here.
"This is my club and I want to be here. That's why I am committing my future.
"There was no way I was going to bail out. I am here for the long run."
Delph joined Villa from Leeds United in 2009, has extended his stay until 2019, and will be now looking to add to his tally of more than 110 appearances for the second city outfit.
