NEC Nijmegen are expected to announce the signing of Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

The Nigerian was due to undergo a medical earlier this week, says Gerlander.

The striker saw NEC in action on Sunday against Go Ahead Eagles for their 2-2 draw and is set to sign on a season-long loan.

Awoniyi enjoyed a successful loan with FSV Frankfurt last season.

NEC have been in talks with Liverpool for the past month about a deal for the young attacker.
