Liverpool striker Sadio Mane: We're now praying for Man City to drop points

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane says they're "praying" for Manchester City to drop points as the Premier League season enters the final weeks.

The Reds went top of the table on Saturday evening when they leapfrogged City on goal difference after a 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Anfield. The result saw Liverpool drop points at home for the first time since October.

"If you focus on it too much, sometimes it makes you nervous so as players we are relaxed about it because we know how good the team is," Mane said of Liverpool 's quadruple hopes. "It is not something we have to talk about but we know it is our target now and we have to make sure we do everything possible to do it.

"Every single day we give our best in training and we have to make sure we do this in the games. I think the [rivalry with Man City] makes the Premier League so special. We can see how close we have been to each other over the years and it is amazing.

"For sure, we are praying Man City draw or lose and we will win the games because winning the Premier League is not happening every single year and we have a chance this year.

"City have one [game] in hand but sometimes this year we were 10 points behind so we are making sure we win the games and hoping someone can at least take a point off Man City!"
