Liverpool striker Samed Yesil is out for the season with knee ligament damage.

The Liverpool Echo report that the 18-year-old, who arrived at Anfield for £1million last summer from German club Bayer Leverkusen, faces at least six months on the sidelines and a lengthy rehabilitation programme.

Yesil has made only two appearances for the Merseyside club, making his debut last September in the Capital One Cup win over West Brom before featuring in the defeat to Swansea in October.
