Liverpool starlet Kent developing into real talent - Rodgers

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed he is keeping tabs on youth player Ryan Kent, who scored a brace for Liverpool U21 against Everton on Thursday.

Rodgers believes that if the Reds qualify for the Europa League then the competition could provide an opportunity to the youth players, including Kent, to force their way into the first team.

Rodgers said of Kent: "Ryan is a young player who has done really, really well of late and he's really maturing into a real talent.

"If you go back to my first year here when we were in the Europa League it was in that competition that we found some of our young players.

"I gave a lot of them the opportunity, a chance for the likes of Raheem (Sterling) and Andre Wisdom and young Suso, and in the end we finished on the top of that group with 10 points."
