Liverpool star Suarez: Gerrard our captain

Liverpool ace Luis Suarez insists he's not eyeing the captaincy long-term.

Suarez took the captain's armband in the absence of injured skipper Steven Gerrard for victory at Tottenham.

"It was no different, because for me, there is only one captain here at Liverpool and that is Stevie," Suarez told Sky Sports.

"Today I took the armband, but the team played very well and that is more important to me than being the captain.

"I try my best on the pitch. I'm the striker and I play all the time to help the squad, but today the most important thing was the performance of the team.

"We played well in the first half and then in the second half, we were well-positioned. Also, when Flanno scored, it was a happy moment for us.

"We know in December that we have some very big games. The win is very good for our confidence."
