Southampton chiefs are furious with Adam Lallana over the way he left for Liverpool. The Daily Star says fuming Southampton insiders claim the club were forced to sell their captain after he told them he never wanted to play for the club again.
Saints were determined to keep hold of him, despite Lallana telling them he wanted to be sold this summer before he departed for the World Cup.
But with Saints standing firm Lallana then delivered his ultimatum after returning from Brazil.
A club source said: "Adam threw his toys out of the pram and said he would never play for the club again if they did not accept Liverpool's offer. It left a bitter taste."
