Liverpool must sell to fund their deal for Fulham attacker Clint Dempsey.

The Daily Mirror says Liverpool are desperately trying to raise money to fund a £7.5million bid for Dempsey.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is now looking to offload midfielders Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing.

Adam, 26, has been offered to Fulham as a £2.5m makeweight as part of the Dempsey deal, although it is thought the Scot is not keen on a move to London.
