Liverpool's Skrtel has empathy for underperforming Balotelli

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel believes teammate Mario Balotelli will soon get the goals he deserves.

The Italian striker has not scored in seven Premier League appearances since joining the Reds from AC Milan in the summer which has brought along plenty of negative talk.

But Skrtel suggests that the former Manchester City man will begin to the hit the back of the net regularly once his luck changes.

"He is working hard and showed some good moments," said Skrtel.

"I feel sorry for him. He is working hard in training, he is working hard in the game. He just hasn't got the goals.

"We just believe in him. We will be supporting him and just hope he will start scoring goals."

Since his £16million move to Anfield, Balotelli has only scored once in the Champions League against Ludogorets Razgrad for a total of one goal in 12 appearances in all competitions.
