Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is still looking to strengthen his squad before the January transfer window closes.
The Reds have already signed Argentine winger Maxi Rodriguez this winter but Benitez wants to ease the injury worries of Fernando Torres by signing a new striker. The fact that fellow leading scorers Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun are likely to be sidelined for a few weeks makes Benitez's plight of finding a striker even more important.
"We will see if we can do something more in this transfer window," said the Spaniard.
"If we cannot we will stick together for the next challenge. We have a good team, a good squad and not as bad as people think.
"It is important to have confidence. When people say we need two strikers like Torres you say 'OK. Where are these strikers and how much can you pay for them?"'
Sunderland talisman Kenwyne Jones has been linked with a move to Anfield but the Black Cats dismissed any speculation in regards to those rumours.
