Liverpool are reviving their pursuit of Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.
The Daily Star says Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is set to re-ignite his interest in Southampton's Rodriguez following the collapse of Loic Remy's transfer to Liverpool.
Liverpool have already bought Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, with the deal for Dejan Lovren expected to be complete within the next 48 hours, and despite Rodriguez's season-ending injury in April, Rodgers is keen to push through a deal.
Rodriguez scored 15 Premier League goals last term, the league's eighth highest scorer, and the third most prolific Englishman behind Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney, and had been earmarked for a World Cup slot until his injury.
It is thought Rodriguez would welcome an exit from St Mary's, following the exodus on the south coast, but also has interest from Tottenham and former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
